If you haven’t got a pool near to you there’s nothing to stop one popping up in your school hall or car park.
The idea of a swimming pool being set up in your school hall sounds a little bit crazy, but that’s what Pools 4 Schools does. Check out our video on the left.
It’s so that you have somewhere to go for your school swimming lessons if you haven’t got a pool nearby. The lessons come to you!
For up to 12 weeks a mobile swimming pool parks up at your school ensuring you get swimming lessons in school time.
When the school closes the pool opens to the local community ensuring both you are your parents can take a dip..
A typical pool is 12 metres by 6 metres and 1 metre deep.
Learn to swim and enjoy activities such as mini-polo and aqua-aerobics with Pools 4 Schools. Tell your teacher about it.The idea came from Olympic medallist swimmer Steve Parry when he found out how many children hadn’t learned to swim.
He was shocked! So Steve set up the British Gas Pools 4 Schools programme.
