Interested in aqua fitness instructing? Then you’ll need to take the Aqua Level 2 Fitness Instructing Core Units (Active IQ) if you are not already a qualified fitness instructor.

Aqua Level 2 Fitness Instructing Core Units (Active IQ)

The Level 2 Fitness Instructing Core Units (Active IQ) course takes you through the core units of being a fitness instructor.

  • Duration:   4 months (approx. – learning completed at your own pace)
  • Training Format:   Online Learning

Who is the course designed for?

Anyone who wants to teach AquaFit but has not previously qualified as a fitness instructor.

Course content

This course is delivered as a distance learning package where you manage your own time and workload. This provides a flexible learning approach where you can fit your studying around other commitments and attend exams when you feel ready to do so.

  • Core Unit 1 – Anatomy and physiology for exercise
  • Core Unit 2 – Know how to support clients who take part in exercise and physical activity
  • Core Unit 3 – Health, safety and welfare in a fitness environment
  • Core Unit 4 – Principles of exercise, fitness and health

You must be at least 18 years of age at the start of the course.

Active IQ Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing (Aqua)

This aqua fitness instructing course provides gym and exercise-to-music instructors with the skills to deliver safe, effective, and enjoyable Aqua Fit programmes.

  • Level:   Intermediate
  • Duration:   3 days (approx.)
  • Training Format:   Face to face

Who is the course designed for?

Anyone who wants to teach AquaFit who has already passed the Level 2 Fitness Instructing Core Units (Active IQ) course, or previously qualified as a fitness instructor.

Course content

The course delivery is based on the flexible blended learning method. This combines advanced home study with a two-day course which will build on the core skills and qualifications you have already achieved in exercise and fitness at Level 2. This will add:

  • Core Unit 5 – Planning water based exercise
  • Core Unit 6 – Instructing water based exercise sessions

Eligibility

To take this aqua fitness instructing course you must be at least 18 years of age at the start of the course.

You should have some experience of attending aqua exercise classes before attending this course.

Also, you must have one of the following qualifications:

  • Level 2 certificate in fitness instructing (GYM) qualification
  • Level 2 certificate in fitness instructing (ETM) qualification
  • Level 2 Fitness Instructing Core Units (Active IQ) course

Please note: if your qualification did not contain the Level 2 Anatomy and Physiology and Fitness Knowledge units, you may need to carry out further assessments.
