IoS course supports boost in open water swimming popularity

Over the past few years the popularity in open water swimming has been growing.

Just seven years ago, that less than 50,000 people were swimming outdoors, this number has now doubled.

May believe increasing numbers of open water events catering for people of all ages and abilities are behind the jump. Also, the inclusion of marathon swimming in the Olympic Games from 2008.

This increase in interest means that more people are looking to join a club and take their training seriously with the help of a coach.

To cater for this we deliver the ASA Level 2 Award in Coaching Open Water Swimming. It enables Level 2 Swimming or Triathlon Coaches to gain specialist knowledge in delivering open water swimming sessions.

Outdoor and open water swimming is an exhilarating way to enjoy the water, with fantastic surroundings, and the feeling of freedom and adventure.
