Apprenticeship scheme provides excellent technical coaching
A recent OFSTED inspection report has confirmed that the technical coaching provided to apprentices by the Institute of Swimming (IoS) is excellent, delivered by some of the most highly qualified and experienced coaches in England, at excellently resourced facilities.
The report also summarises the views of leisure employers as being particularly impressed with the growing range of programmes being developed, the capacity of these programmes to meet their business needs and the improvement in skill levels acquired by their employees.
...leisure employers have said that the apprenticeship programmes we provide meet their growing business needs.
Colin Huffen, IoS Assistant Head is delighted at the positive outcome of the inspection, which rated the overall effectiveness of the training provision as ‘Good’.
“It’s very pleasing, because it confirms we are doing all the right things and highlights just some of the areas in which we are particularly effective. For example, we have high success rates in making sure that our learners do actually achieve the qualifications they are studying for and complete their learning within the planned time.
“This is testament to the high quality content of the courses. But our training provision covers so much more than just the course delivery - learners receive a high level of specialist technical support and guidance from some of the most experienced coaches in England.
“It’s also reassuring to know that leisure employers have said that the apprenticeship programmes we provide meet their growing business needs. Industry apprenticeships are relatively new way of providing organisations with enthusiastic and educated individuals that can quickly become key members of the team and contribute towards a truly world class workforce.”
