The Institute of Swimming (IoS) is continuing to add to its reputation at the cutting edge of teaching and coaching innovation by introducing a brand new online system for education and training.

From 1st October 2010, the website at www.theiosonline.com will become the best place for candidates, leisure employers and tutors to visit for all their aquatic training needs.

The new system will provide a quick and simple online booking and payment system to support candidates in sourcing the right course or seminar, as well as giving access to valuable additional information and resources tailored to the relevant stage of an individual’s learning pathway.

Lee Croucher, Head of Operations for the IoS, said: “The aim of the new website is to provide everything to do with aquatic training and resources at one central online location for all of the valued customers of the IoS – past, present and potential!  It will make life so much easier for people to get access to the training they need - whether it be a budding swimming teacher looking for the nearest Level 1 course, an experienced coaching professional seeking to advance their career, or a leisure employer researching the best options for education and training of their swimming and coaching staff.”

Visitors who register on the site will be able to create their own personal area which will recommend tailored opportunities appropriate to their individual learning pathway. They will gain access to a wealth of information on the many varied roles in the aquatic workplace, including how to get into that role and what the next career development steps would be. There will also be a library of educational resources that can be downloaded to help learners improve their aquatics knowledge.

In addition, tutors logging in will benefit from access to live information on candidate bookings and course registers.

Lee added: “What’s really exciting is that we will be continually developing the site, including the option to carry out training online. We are striving to deliver a ‘one stop shop’ for aquatic education that fully meets the training needs of our customers today, but also provides them with valuable foresight and suggestions to ensure they are ready for whatever the future brings.
