Start your career in leisure with the IoS and Parkwood Leisure

In September the Institute of Swimming (IoS) and leading leisure management company Parkwood Leisure joined forces to offer a fantastic opportunity for young people wishing to pursue a career in the leisure sector.

Originally 50 apprenticeship places were on offer across Parkwood sites, of which 46 have been filled to date. Such is the success of the programme we are now looking to recruit more apprentices bringing the total closer to 70. The current recruits have begun working in their centres and with regular meetings with assessors have made headway in working towards many of the qualifications on offer.

The programme offers successful applicants industry recognised qualifications delivered by the IOS a centre of excellence in aquatics instruction. Taking between 9 and 12 months to complete there are a variety of courses which can lead to a wide range of career pathways available to candidates upon completion. Opportunities include full time employment within Parkwood Leisure and the option to develop skills further by progressing onto advanced apprenticeships and training programmes.

With more positions on offer applicants should be aged between 16 and 24, not be in full time education, not hold a degree or HND qualification and be able to swim 25 metres.
