This eLearning covers current best practices and technological advances in water management and safety. By taking this update course, you will be recognised by employers and the industry for keeping your technical knowledge of pool plant and water treatment up to date. You should take the Pool Plant Operator Revalidation before your current Pool Plant Operator certificate expires. Please see the prerequisite details below for further information.

Who is the course designed for?

Anyone who passed their National Pool Plant Operator course within the last three years.

Course content

• Management of pH and chlorine levels
• Use of UV
• Health and safety update
• Latest advances in technology and equipment
• Bacteriological testing – what do the results mean?
• Linking pool water treatment with source water
• Energy management update
• Differences in the operation of spa, swimming, hydrotherapy pools

Prerequisite

You must be at least 18 years of age at the start of the course and have an in-date Pool Plant Operators Certificate, these include:

• Institute of Swimming /RLSS UK – Pool Plant Operator
• Active IQ – Level 3 Pool Plant Operations
• Palm – Swimming Pool Technical Operator
• Brio – Swimming Pool Technical Operator
• Stockwell Safety – Pool Plant Operator
• STA – Pool Plant Operator

Please note your results will not be processed for certification until the Institute of Swimming has verified a copy of your current certificate.

If you are revalidating within 8 weeks of your original Pool Plant Operator Certificate expiry then we will require additional prerequisites to process your revalidation. This is to show you have been maintaining current and regular pool plant room and water testing experience. This evidence can be provided in the form of a letter or expert witness statement from your employer to be sent to poolplant@swimming.org. Once received, your details will be submitted to RLSS UK for awarding.

If your Pool Plant Operator Certificate is outside of this period, you will need to obtain a qualification extension request from your original Awarding Organisation, this will need to be evidenced alongside your original certificate before your results are processed.

Training Format

This eLearning course allows you to make the most of learning online and will cover the course theory through interactive activities. eLearning allows you to work through the content at your own pace and from the comfort of your own home. There will be an online assessment at the end of the eLearning to test your knowledge.

Certification

The National Pool Plant Operators Certificate is digital and can be accessed through your RLSS Tahdah account. This is awarded by RLSS UK Qualifications– the awarding body for The Royal Life Saving Society.
