Changes to Masters Record Claim Conditions

Masters News

For all of those fantastic Masters Swimmers out there who are hoping to set a record at the National Masters Championships this weekend, please note there have been some changes to the conditions.

The changes have been made in line with FINA rules which altered at the start of October.

These are very simple and relate to the use of electronic timing. You can find the claim form and conditions here but in particular please note the following:

Timing

Record applications will only be accepted where times have been recorded using fully automatic officiating equipment or Semi-Automatic Officiating Equipment in the case of Automatic Officiating Equipment system malfunction.

The use of manual operated timers is not permitted.

Please could we remind all swimmers that where ever possible records will be claimed automatically throughout the National Masters Championships but the responsibility always rests with the swimmer.

If you think you have broken a record please report to the timing suite (the glass box on the poolside) before the end of the session to confirm this.

Good luck to all swimmers competing and happy swimming!
