Familiar faces on form in sixth session of British Masters

Karen Graham, Mike Hodgson and Paul Barnard continued their impressive meets with British records in the sixth session of the 2017 British Masters Championships in Aberdeen.

East Leeds’ Graham was the only woman to break a record in the session, taking down the British marker in the 50-54 Years 100m Freestyle.

She had already won the 200m Free title in Aberdeen, breaking her own British record in the process on the opening day.

And Graham proved just as effective over half the distance, taking down a four-year old record in the 100m Free with her 1:04.09 effort.

Hodgson enjoying remarkable meet

Hodgson has been one of the undisputed stars of the first two days of the meet.

The Guildford City swimmer had already broken two relay and two individual records over the first two days, including over 50m Free in the previous session.

And Hodgson took the 50-54 Years British 100m Free record with another impressive performance in Scotland, finishing in 56.82.

Barnard adds to BR from 400m Free

Barnard added to his British record from the 400m Free with another national marker in the 400m IM.

Competing in the 35-39 Years age group, the Trafford Metro swimmer clocked 4:51.01 to slice more than three seconds off David Warren’s old record of 4:54.86 from 2009.

The only relay record in session came from Aberdeen Dolphin’s senior age group quartet in the men’s 4x50m Freestyle Relay.

Competing in the 72-99 Years age group, the team of Eddie Watson, Robert Bryce, Stuart McIntosh and Ed Rafipay set a British record of 1:35.01.
