Health club getting in the Spirit with sponsored swim
22nd November 2011
Members and guests of Spirit Health Clubs across the UK are competing in a mass sponsored swim to raise money for disability charity Whizz-Kidz.
The 40 Spirit Health Clubs are hosting ‘the Great Spirit Swim’ in which members will join together to collectively swim the 11,000km distance of the British coastline in the pool.
The event will take place for seven days between 5-11 December 2011 with organisers hoping their 25,000 members will help raise £20,000.
Spirit Health Club UK&I Operations Manager Mark Mantell said: “Our members are committed swimmers and have always been incredibly supportive of great causes.
“I know they will throw themselves into this challenge as a means of setting themselves a personal goal and also to support the great work Whizz-Kidz do.”
Whizz-Kidz are a UK charity that provides disabled children with the wheelchairs and other essential mobility equipment they need to lead fun and active childhoods.
