There’s not long left to enter the ASA’s new National Open Water Festival at Rother Valley Country Park from 23-24 July.

Entries for the 1500m Challenge have now closed.

The festival incorporates the ASA National Open Water Masters and Age Group Championships as well as giving people new to open water swimming the chance to give it a go with a 1,500m Challenge event.

Open water swimming continues to grow in popularity and the 1,500m Challenge is the perfect opportunity for 200 new open water or competitive swimmers to have fun and experience the adrenaline rush of open water swimming from the comfort of a wetsuit.

The Masters Championships is open to all Masters swimmers aged 18 to 80+ years in England, Scotland and Wales and will run alongside the 1,500m Challenge on Saturday 23 July.

Meanwhile, the Age Group Championships will be held on Sunday 24 July and will see young open water stars go head to head with their peers for national honours across 1.5k, 3k, and 5k distances.

The two-day open water festival is completely free for spectators, so family and friends can come along to support swimmers and enjoy the festival atmosphere on the shore.

Plus there will be the opportunity for families and children aged between seven and 14 years the opportunity to take part in Swim Safe and Swim Safe for Families sessions.
