People swim for a wide variety of reasons, grouped together into learning to swim, leisure and family fun, health and lifestyle and World Class high performance. The gives the sport a huge reach in terms of participants, members, coaches, and pool and health club operators.

As an organisation, we have 6 strategic objectives that aim to positively impact across all elements of the sport:

  1. More people learning to swim
  2. People swimming more regularly
  3. More medals won on the world stage
  4. Develop and improve facilities
  5. Develop Leadership
  6. Invest in people

To help achieve these objectives British Swimming partners with brands who’s own goals align with our own, working together to deliver events, learn to swim award schemes, national squad performance, participation programmes and much more.

Information about some of the many successful programmes run with our current partners can be found on these pages.
