Make fundraising everyone’s business

Swim England News

This month, our partnership with easyfundraising is offering clubs a chance to win £100, while also getting more sponsorship to support their members.

If you have easyfundraising set up and have donations coming in, this campaign provides the perfect boost. By asking your members, volunteers and local businesses to shop online through the easyfundraising portal, you could see significantly more donations coming in.

If you can get a local business on-board, you can generate free funding each time they buy items like stationary, office equipment, travel and accommodation, and insurance.

If your supporters shop through one of six business retailers before the 21 June, your club could also be in with a chance of winning £100 courtesy of Viking.

The competition is open to all registered Swim England clubs. If your club isn’t registered yet, then sign up and start raising funds today.

Three steps to transform your fundraising

If you want to start raising some serious funds for your club, you’re going to need to be persuasive. Follow these three steps to transform your fundraising efforts.

  1. The first step is to start with the club itself. By getting the club to purchase all of the resources it needs through easyfundraising, you can have regular donations coming in straight away.
  2. Next you should speak to the volunteers and athletes at the club. Ask them, and their friends and families, to get their workplace involved. It may be that their company already purchases through an easyfundraising retailer. If you have social media channels, you can also post on these to get your supporters on board too.
  3. The final step is to reach out to local businesses. Choose businesses who have supported you in the past, or businesses who are likely to make the right type of purchases. Write a letter using the template provided and attach a flyer and FAQ document. Once they know how simple it is to help, you may be surprised how much support you receive.
