Why British Gas Swimfit?

You have probably noticed that this ASA programme is called British Gas Swimfit. If you are wondering why this is, read on to learn why one of the UK’s biggest brands is involved with swimming.

Why British Gas Swimfit?

In March 2009 British Gas and swimming became partners. Swimming is the biggest participation sport in the UK and British Gas customers and employees love to swim!

No other sport is as universal. Whatever your age, background or ability, everyone can swim. British Gas sponsors Swimming, Disability, Synchro, Water Polo, Open Water and Diving teams.

It has launched Pools 4 Schools and partnered on the official Learn to Swim initiative to teach children to swim as well as giving away Free Family Swims to its customers.

In short, British Gas loves swimming. And if you need any more proof, watch the video below and try not to be moved.

So, it couldn't resist helping the ASA provide a powerful swimming support website that encourages more people to get into the water. So what else could we call it? It had to be British Gas Swimfit.

Together with the ASA and British Swimming, British Gas is helping power a nation of smiling swimmers at every level. Join us and get involved. Sign up to MySwimfit today.
