Tickets are now on sale for the ASA National Championships next month, giving spectators a final opportunity to watch Britain’s Olympic swimmers in action before heading off to the Beijing Games.
The event will see the squad take to the pool in Liverpool and gives those who attend a chance to give them some encouragement and see them swim before they take on the worlds best in China.
The likes of 2004 Olympic bronze medallist David Davies, World Championship 10km silver medal winner Cassandra Patten and previous Olympians including Mel Marshall, Caitlin McClatchey and Gregor Tait all competing.
Mark Foster will also be in at Liverpool’s Picton Pool, and will be attending his fifth Olympic Games to put his mark on British swimming history as only the second athlete to achieve this feat, joining Alison Shepherd who made her mark at the 2004 Olympics before retiring.
World Record holder in the 50m Backstroke, Liam Tancock, will also be in action with the squad looking to continue the good form they have displayed this year already.
British swimmers have enjoyed a successful beginning to 2008 with fantastic performances at the British Swimming Championships, after which the Olympic squad was announced, and the World Championships (25m) in Manchester.
