Otter and Newton Abbot in pole position after Girls' U17 Prelims
February 19, 2018Otter and Newton Abbot won all five games of their respective groups to lead qualifiers from the Girls’ U17 Prelims of the Swim England Water Polo National Age Group Championships 2018.
Reigning champions London Otter topped Group A in a bid to make this their fourth win in the last five years.
Otter put in a strong performance with an overall goal difference of 62, defeating Tyldesley, Nova Centurion, Otter Futura and two teams from City of Sheffield.

Also through to the qualification round in March from Group A are Tyldesley, City of Sheffield A and Otter Futura.
Newton Abbot dominate Group B in Liverpool
Group B was dominated by Newton Abbot. Having won the U15 title last October, the Devon outfit carried on momentum into the U17 competition.
The finished the day with an overall goal difference of 65, handing defeats to former champions City of Manchester and City of Liverpool, as well as Cheltenham, Watford and Iceni.
Cheltenham, City of Liverpool and Watford are also through to the next round. Both Cheltenham and City of Liverpool won three matches and lost one while Watford won two and lost three.
