ASA appoints Suzy Stevenson as National Development Officer for Water Polo

The ASA has appointed Suzy Stevenson as a new National Development Officer for Water Polo.

Suzy Stevenson, ASA National Development Officer for Water PoloSuzy will be based in the ASA head offices at Sport Park in Loughborough and will be responsible for helping to increase participation in the sport on a national level.

Suzy comes to the ASA after six years in sports development, having worked for Derby City Council and in a national development role for Volleyball England.

“I very much look forward to working with the Water Polo Management Group and the water polo community to implement the new strategy to grow the number of people participating and ultimately increase the number of people available to be selected for the talent pathway,” said Suzy.

“I will bring my knowledge and experience of growing a variety of sports to the role and can’t wait to see the impact we can have on the growth of the discipline over the coming 12 months.

“I am very excited about the potential of opening up the sport to new participants, in new ways, and the potential to grow the game is infinite.”

Ian Elliot, chair of the ASA Water Polo Management Group, added: “The development of sport at grassroots level is a key objective of the ASA and is vital to increasing the number of people playing water polo in this country.

“Suzy’s experience provides us with a great platform to raise our sport’s participation levels across the nation,” – Ian Elliot.
