University of Kent Water Polo Scholarship

Map of University of KentThe University of Kent are based in Canterbury and offer scholarships to elite athletes who have competed at county level or higher.

While the university does not have a water polo team, they have a bespoke strength and conditioning training area and access to the pool at the King’s School Recreation Centre in Canterbury.

University of Kent Water Polo Scholarships

The University of Kent offer sports scholarships to athletes of any sport and encourage talented water polo players, who have competed at county level or higher, to apply for a University of Kent Water Polo Scholarship.

Scholarships include a bursary of between £300 and £5,000 to cover equipment, physiotherapy and other expenses. The amount offered by the university will vary for each scholar with each case considered on its own merit.

Athletes with a University of Kent Water Polo Scholarship will also benefit from free membership to the University of Kent Sports Centre, fitness programmes, monitored fitness testing, sports advice and guidance, and weekly supervised workouts.

Sports Facilities at the University of Kent

The University of Kent Sports Centre includes an air-conditioned fitness suite with StarTrac equipment, interactive media access and free Wi-Fi throughout.

The Centre also features ‘The Pit’ – a bespoke strength and conditioning training area with four Olympic lifting platforms and Eleiko discs and bars.

While there is no pool on campus, the swimming team train at the King’s School Recreation Centre in Canterbury city centre while there is also an Active Life pool at Kingsmead Leisure Centre.
