The 2015 ASA National Age Group Water Polo Boys and Girls U19 finalists will be determined this weekend with the last set of qualifiers taking place in Watford and Lancaster respectively.
The Boys’ event will see two groups of four teams battling it out with the top two from each group progressing to the Finals weekend in Manchester later this month.
Defending champions Solihull finished top of their Preliminary group and will go in Group B of the qualifiers, taking on eight-time champions Lancaster as well as Exeter and City of Manchester B.
Group A could be another tight affair with last year’s runners-up City of Manchester A – who gained compensation for their defeat in last year’s final with victory over Solihull in the Prelims – taking on Watford, Croydon Amphibians and eight-time champions Cheltenham.
Watford handed City of Manchester A their only defeat in the Prelims with a 4-3 win while last year’s U17 champions Croydon Amphibians were the only Boys’ U19 team to carry an 100 per cent record through the Prelims with five victories.
Five into four in Girls’ U19 Championships
There will be just one group in the Girls’ event with five teams looking to book one of the four spots for the Finals weekend.
City of Manchester and Crawley were the only two teams unbeaten in the Prelims last month, the former looking to go one better than their silver medal from last year.
City of Liverpool beat their North West rivals to the title 12 months ago and are also in the Qualifiers, having finished second behind Crawley in their Prelim group.
Otter and City of Leeds are the fourth and fifth teams in action to complete the line-up.
