Croydon Amphibians U19 Boys Water Polo Prelims

Croydon Amphibians stormed to victory with five wins in Group A of the 2015 ASA National Age Group Water Polo Championship Boys U19 Prelims in Watford.

The London side – who finished fourth last year but won the U17 title – conceded just nine goals and scored an impressive 52 over their five games as they defeated Exeter, Carmarthen, City of Birmingham, Lancaster and Cheltenham.

Alfie Brown was clinical in front of goal for Croydon, notching at least one goal in all five games for a total of 14, although eight of them came in their 18-1 defeat of City of Birmingham.

Exeter and Lancaster played out a tempestuous final game to decide who finished second in the group with Exeter ultimately securing the vital two points with an 8-7 win with Lancaster settling for third.

Cheltenham secured the fourth and final qualification spot after victories over Carmarthen and City of Birmingham.
