Introduction to Teaching the Four Strokes – Online

This bundle brings together all four of our Introduction to Teaching Strokes online CPDs for a reduced price.

These interactive online courses will give you an introduction to delivering practical sessions that focus on the development of a good technique across all four strokes, for non-swimmers to improvers.

Who is the course designed for?

This course is relevant to any Level 1 Swimming Assistant who is looking to progress to their Level 2 Teaching Swimming qualification, or those who want to refresh their knowledge.

Course content

This course contains videos and interactive activities which are designed to enhance your learning experience.

You will learn about:

  • The stroke cycle for front crawl, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly
  • The progressive practices used to teach the four strokes
  • How to assess and correct common faults

After you complete each section there is a knowledge check. These are included to help you gauge your progress and provide feedback on your learning, they are not assessed. We have also included downloadable resources for you to retain for reference.

The modules on each stroke course should take about three hours and the whole set will take around 12hrs in total to complete. There is a lot to take in so please don’t try to complete it all at once. We recommend taking breaks in between online sessions to think about how you can implement what you’ve learnt.

At the end of each module, you will have the opportunity to test your knowledge and understanding of the specific stroke fully in the final assessment. Those who achieve at least 80% will be able to download an electronic certificate for each separate stroke course.
