Swim England Swimming Coach – Perdiswell Leisure Centre

This CPD course is designed to help non-specialist swimming teachers and assistants with the knowledge of how they can support learners with physical and/or sensory impairments within their swimming lessons. It looks at common barriers and explains adaptations that can be made.

What can I expect? 
 
This is a three hour interactive webinar led by a Swim England licensed tutor, please see below for the full itinerary. 
 
What will I learn? 
 
During this course you will learn about: 
 
Being aware of any additional needs swimmers with a physical and/or sensory impairment(s) may have to learn to swim 
What a physical impairment is 
What a sensory impairment is 
Considering individual needs 
Using your existing knowledge when teaching an impaired swimmer (e.g. including BLABT) 
Assessing swimmers’ needs 
 
What happens next? 
 
Following the completion of your course, it will take six to eight weeks for your certificate to be issued. An electronic copy of your certificate will be emailed to you.
