Teaching School Swimming and Water Safety – Grantham Meres Leisure Centre
This CPD course is designed to provide swimming teachers with a deeper understanding of how to deliver school swimming lessons that align with national curriculum requirements. This course will develop your knowledge of what primary schools are required to teach and report on.
The national curriculum outlines three essential swimming and water safety outcomes that all pupils must achieve by the end of Year 6. Swimming teachers play a vital role in supporting schools to fulfil this statutory requirement.

What makes an effective school swimming programme
Activities that will challenge and engage pupils, whilst enhancing learning in other areas of the national curriculum
How to ensure learners continue to make progress
Applying the Swim England School Swimming and Water Safety Charter
What happens next?
Following the completion of your course, it will take six to eight weeks for your certificate to be issued. An electronic copy of your certificate will be emailed to you.
