This CPD course is designed to help non-specialist Swimming teachers and assistants with the knowledge of how they can support neurodiverse learners within their swimming lessons.

What will I learn? 
 
During this course you will learn about: 
 
Key characteristics of learning difficulties and learning disabilities that can impact on a participant’s ability to learn to swim 
How to support the individual needs of the participant in group lessons 
The challenges a swimmer may face when attending swimming lessons 
How to effectively communicate with the participant, parents/guardians, Level 1 Swimming Assistants 
How to work effectively with a Level 1 Swimming Assistant 
What makes a good teacher of pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) 
 
What happens next? 
 
Following the completion of your course, it will take six to eight weeks for your certificate to be issued. An electronic copy of your certificate will be emailed to you.
