SEQ Level 2 in Teaching Swimming – Littlehampton Wave
If you wish to take on the responsibility of managing learn to swim programmes, the SEQ Level 3 Managing Learn to Swim Programmes qualification will help you develop the skills and confidence to do so effectively. Whether you’re already working in aquatics or aiming to move into a leadership role, you’ll learn how to coordinate the safe and effective delivery of high-quality swimming programmes that truly make a difference in people’s lives.
Is this course right for me?
This is for current swim school coordinators or those aspiring towards taking on this role in the future. It is recommended that anyone booking onto this course holds the SEQ Level 2 Teaching Swimming qualification, but this is not a formal requirement.
You need to have turned 18 by the start date of this course.
What can I expect during my course?
Attending webinars with your tutor. They will go through the theory topics and prepare you for the post course exam
Completion of the post course exam, which will consist of a written section with multiple-choice and short-answer questions to test theoretical knowledge, alongside scenario-based tasks requiring applied responses to realistic case studies
What will I learn?
During the course, your tutor will be covering the following topics:
How to manage learn to swim programmes effectively, responsibly and in line with industry standards
How to apply safeguarding, health and safety, and legal requirements to ensure safe and inclusive provision
How to plan, deliver, and evaluate learn to swim programmes that meet participant needs and support progression
How to use evaluation data and monitoring processes to drive continuous improvement
How to manage and support staff, including coordinating professional development and communication
Applying customer service strategies to enhance participant experience, encourage retention, and build positive relationships with parents, guardians, and the wider community
How to deliver learn to swim programmes that are efficient, sustainable, and focused on both organisational objectives and participant success
How will I be assessed?
Between your webinars, you will be required to complete homework tasks in your own time. These tasks do not form part of the formal assessment for the qualification.
After completing all webinars, you will be assessed against the qualification specification via an exam set and marked externally by Swim England Qualifications (SEQ). The exam will include:
Multiple-choice questions
Case study-based questions
Exam timeframes:
At the beginning of the course, you will be invited to create an account on SEQ’s secure online portal
The exam will become available the day after your final webinar
Once started, you will have 3.5 hours to complete all elements of the exam* and this must be completed in one sitting
If the exam is not completed within the 21-day window, a fee will be payable to SEQ to reopen the assessment

What happens next?
Results are awarded on a pass/fail basis, and results will be released via the SEQ online portal within six to eight weeks of the end of the 21-day assessment window.
Learners who successfully meet all assessment criteria will receive their certificate electronically via email.
Learners who do not achieve a pass may undertake a resit using an alternative version of the assessment. Please note, if you do have to go through the resit process there will be additional fees to complete this, payable to SEQ. This will need to be completed within your registration period, which is 24 months.
