The Olympic artistic swimming, formerly known as synchronised swimming or synchro, will be in the second half of the Games, which runs from 24 July – 9 August 2020.

Tokyo Aquatics Centre is a newly-constructed venue in the Tatsumi-no-Mori Seaside Park with a capacity of 15,000. The venue will also host the Olympic diving and swimming events, as well as the swimming at the Paralympic Games.

Artistic swimming has been held at the Olympic Games since 1984. While mixed-sex events are featured at World and European level, it is only open to female competitors at Tokyo 2020.

Team GB has been represented at Olympic level six times, including at the past three Games with Olivia Federici and Katie Clark finishing 17th in the Duet most recently at Rio 2016.

Kate Shortman and Isabelle Thorpe will be hoping to carry the flag for Team GB in the duet event at Tokyo 2020.
