We are a small and friendly swimming club with big aspirations currently seeking a part time head coach to put in place a plan to keep up the current competitive level of our swimmers and develop a clear feed of new swimmers.
You will be responsible for planning the season of training with an organised calendar of competitions covering all levels of achievement (Open to National) with a focus on maintaining our growing number of county and regional swimmers and supporting those with National aspiration. You will directly coach our performance groups but have a plan for succession as older swimmers depart. This is a hands on position.
We are looking for a punctual, ordered and self motivated individual who is happy to invest in young people and reap the reward. You will be disciplined but encouraging with clear goals set for swimmers and coaches under your charge. You will be a good communicator and happy to deal with parents, staff and committee members as required.
You will be fully supported by a volunteer committee and coaching and teaching staff who are paid. The club has a permanent base at Bedes senior school and all training is on site with access to dry areas for land training as well as the pool.
This is a part time position with access to pool hours in the early morning and 5 evenings per week and a mid morning session on Saturdays. You will be minimum Level-2 qualified and the club will happily support Level 3 aspiration both with time and finances. A lifeguarding qualification is also desireable but not essential as we will organise this for the right candidate along with any other qualification that may enrichen the training environment. You must be eligible to work in the UK.
