Brown and Waxman win Elite Group C 3m crowns

Alfie Brown and Holly Waxman won the Elite Group C 3m Springboard titles on day two of the 2015 ASA National Age Group Championships in Sheffield.

Star Diving’s Brown, who won the British Elite Group C Platform title last season, was lying second behind Southend’s Tyler Humphreys after the morning prelim but stormed clear in the final, scoring 364.60 for gold.

Humphreys was next best for silver on 351.80 while City of Sheffield’s Raffa Benitez – who won 3m Synchro gold with Brown on the opening day in Sheffield – claimed bronze on 329.30.

Bradford Esprit diver Waxman held a slender lead of 4.25 points after the prelim before scored consistently in the final – all three of her dives were over 44 points – to claim the title on 320.05.

Crystal Palace’s Louise Bradley, who won 3m Synchro gold with Waxman on day one in Sheffield, was her closest rival as she took silver on 303.90 while City of Sheffield’s Richelle Houlden won bronze on 296.75.
