About Freddie Woodward

Freddie Woodward enjoyed a stellar junior career, winning individual British Elite Junior medals in the Group A, B and C age groups.

He teamed up with Jack Haslam for 3m Synchro silver at the 2013 European Junior Championships in Poznan before making his senior breakthrough in 2014.

A bronze in the 3m at the seasoning-opening National Cup was followed by a pair of golds at the British Championships in his home pool at Ponds Forge, Woodward triumphing in the 1m Springboard and with double Olympian Nick Robinson-Baker in the 3m Synchro.

His performances at the British Champs earned him a call up to the England team for the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games, where he finished 10th in the 1m and won 3m Synchro bronze with Robinson-Baker.

After an injury-disrupted 2015, Woodward returned with a pair of impressive performances at the 2016 National Cup in Southend, winning the 1m and 3m Springboard double.

He continued to progress in 2016, winning silver at the British Championships to earn him a spot at his debut Olympics in Rio, where he finished 19th in the 3m Springboard.
