Katherine Torrance wins double gold at 2016 Irish Open

Katherine Torrance landed double gold at the Irish Open Diving Championships 2016.

The 18-year old City of Leeds diver scooped the 1m and 3m Springboard titles in Dublin.

Torrance scored 258.65 for victory in the 1m, then 303.05 to complete her golden double.

The teenager made her senior European debut earlier this season, reaching the final and finishing 12th in the 1m Springboard in London.

Torrance’s Leeds temmate and 3m synchro partner Lydia Rosenthall joined her on the podium with silver in both events.

European medallist Georgia Ward wins platform gold

Dive London’s Georgia Ward topped the podium in a competitive women’s platform competition.

Performing all five dives from the 5m platform, the European bronze medallist scored 260.35.

City of Leeds’ Rio 2016 Olympian Lois Toulson was second on 258.95 while Leeds’ Ruby Bower took bronze on 255.80.

English divers Harding and Williams win golds

It was a similar story in the mens’ events as City of Leeds won gold in the 1m and Dive London topped the platform podium.

Anthony Harding claimed the 1m crown, sealing top spot on 363.75. European Junior bronze medallist Noah Williams was victorious in the podium event, winning with 413.70.

Ireland’s Oliver Dingley claimed the 3m title on 426.75 although English divers Kyle Kothari (Dive London) and Harding joined him on the podium with silver and bronze.
