Lois Toulson lands Platform bronze in Rostock

British champion Lois Toulson claimed a bronze medal in the 10m Platform at the first FINA Grand Prix of the year.

The City of Leeds teenager scored 334 points as she finished behind China’s Yajie Si (361.90) and Mexico’s Viviana Del Angel (349.10) in Rostock, Germany.

Toulson then teamed up with Matty Lee to take silver in the Mixed 10m Synchro. The world silver medallists scored 317.88 to take second spot, with China’s Si and Lizhi Coa taking gold with 320.91.

Lee also combined with Kyle Kothari to claim a second silver of the event in the Men’s 10m Synchro. China’s Coa and Xiaohu Tai were victorious on 439.29 with Lee and Kothari scoring 397.65.

Pair of medals in 3m Synchro

City of Sheffield brothers Ross and Jack Haslam picked up a silver medal in the men’s 3m Synchro, scoring 407.46, while Scarlett Mew Jensen and Millie Haffety claimed bronze in the women’s 3m Synchro, with a total of 270.51.

In the men’s individual events, Ross Haslam just missed out on a place on the podium as he finished fourth in the men’s 3m springboard, while Matthew Dixon was fifth in the men’s 10m platform.

British Team Leader Kim White said: “We came out here with realistic expectations as it was a competitive field with some of the world’s best divers taking part.

“To come away with three silvers, two bronze medals and four top six places has been a fantastic result for our young talent.”

Next up for British divers is the FINA Diving World Series from 9 to 11 March.

Olympic champions Jack Laugher and Chris Mears and world champion Tom Daley will join Dan Goodfellow, Lee, Grace Reid, Katherine Torrance and Toulson for the event in China.
