Lois Toulson reclaims 10m title to complete golden hat-trick

Lois Toulson sealed her second British 10m Platform title on the final day of the British Diving Championships 2017 in Edinburgh.

Having already lifted the 10m Synchro and Mixed 10m Synchro titles, the City of Leeds diver scored 327.90 in the individual final to reclaim the crown she first won in 2015.

Toulson has developed into a seasoned international since that shock gold two years ago, competing at two European Championships, one World Cup and last summer’s Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

And the 17-year old put that experience to good effect back on British soil.

She dominated the preliminary to finish first by more than 25 points on 325.85 before holding off the challenge of Leeds teammate and British Junior Elite champion Ruby Bower in the final.

Toulson really pleased with golden performance

“I’m really pleased with my performance today,” said Toulson, who also won the 10m Synchro and Mixed 10m Synchro titles in Edinburgh.

“I obviously got the gold but also I’m really happy with the score that I got so overall a good performance.

“I started off the final a bit shaky but towards the end when my degree of difficulty goes up as well I slowly crawled up the list.

“Over the rest of the year I will definitely be looking to add some bigger more impressive dives to my list.”

Bower took second spot with her last dive of the final to upgrade on her bronze from 12 months ago.

The 17-year old scored 64.40 for her 405B (inward 2 ½ somersaults piked) to leapfrog Roybn Birch into second place on 310.65.

Dive London’s Birch finished on 310.00 to claim a spot on the individual podium for the first time at British Diving Championships.
