Criteria for Training of Officials at Licensed Meets

The criteria for training of Officials at licensed meets has been updated and is with effect from 1st April 2022, please see more details on the attached document.

As the deadline for completion of Judge 1 training under the old workbook/face to face system has now also passed, the definition of Judge 1 in training for the purposes of Licensed meets has also been updated.

Judge 1 Training

Anyone who did not complete their Judge 1 training under the old workbook/face to face system by the deadline of 31st March 2022 but who wishes to continue to train will need to take the following action:

If they are a qualified timekeeper they can get access to https://www.swimming.org/ios/course-information/swimming-technical-officials-judge-1-theory-qualified-time-keepers/ by emailing swimmingofficials@swimming.org

  • They will then need to evidence all of the required competencies AFTER completing their theory training and within the 11 month timescale. Previously achieved competencies cannot simply be carried over to their new log book. However if they have already demonstrated competency once, it should be relatively easy for them to do it again
