East Midlands Open Water Swimming
01/08/2017 SwimmingEach year more East Midlanders decide to take on a fresh new challenge and jump in to the East Midlands open water swimming venues.
Open water swimming is when people venture to the great outdoors and enjoy the British weather in all its glory, come rain or shine. Most open water swimmers find the best way to get started is to look for an open water swimming club.
A club can help guide you in the lido or maybe the local lake. You will then be able to enter competitions if you wish to go down that route.
There are seven open water swimming clubs in the East Midlands. Use the contact details below to get in touch with one of the clubs and find out about sessions.

Each year the East Midlands hosts the Midlands Open Water Championships. The event is organised by the Swim England East and West Midlands regions.
The competition is open to any Swim England affiliated club swimmers. Priority will always be given to the Midlands swimmers in case of over subscription to the event.
The Midlands Open Water Championships take place in July at the scenic Bosworth Water, Market Bosworth. Find out more about Bosworth Water here.
