New e-learning on the Swim England Return to Pools Guidance now available for members

In anticipation of pools opening, Swim England released their comprehensive Return to Pools Guidance in June which includes robust recommendations for how the whole sector can safely reopen in line with government guidance.

So our members can work through the guidance and implement the recommendations safely and effectively, we have created a free e-learning in partnership with Swim England.

The interactive resource is for teachers and coaches and illustrates the key measures that need to be in place to reduce the risk of Covid-19 transmission within the swimming pool environment. It has been created to complement webinar recordings which have been made freely available so everyone is able to prepare for their return to work.

A downloadable certificate is included for those who successfully complete the final quiz which can be used to show customers and employers that you are ready to return to the pool.

Topics covered are:

  • The Guidance
  • Risk Assessments
  • Inclusive Practice
  • Returning to Swimming Lessons
  • Delivering from Poolside
  • Effective Communication
  • Guidance for Coaches

Institute of Swimming Members will find the e-learning in the free resources section of their Online Learning Hub.

If you have already set up your hub, you just need to go to your Institute of Swimming profile and click on the ‘Online Learning’ button which is to the right of your course titled ‘Membership Online Learning Hub’. Once you have entered the hub, click on ‘Free Resources’ and you will find the e-learning titled ‘Returning to the Pool Guidance’.

If you are a member and don’t yet have access to your Online Learning Hub, you will need to activate your account. You may have been sent a voucher when you joined or received an email inviting you to activate your hub in April.
