Would you like to become a swimming teacher? The academy allows aspiring teachers to receive part-funded training, mentoring, and be matched with an employer.
Apply now to start your journey to becoming a swimming teacher!
The academy gives trainee teachers the chance to embark on a career as a swimming teacher for only £79, compared to the usual cost of over £1,000.
We support trainees through their training journey with membership which includes over £100 worth of free e-learning.
In between the courses, there is a period of volunteering with a potential employer to gain practical experience. Trainees also benefit from CPDs to help them develop as well as getting expert advice and support from a mentor to ensure they have the necessary experience for the role and are ready to hit the poolside well equipped to teach.
Teaching Swimming is an active and rewarding role. Work hours are generally part-time and there are a variety of working hours available across weekdays and weekends. For these roles, there may be an opportunity to work across the following leisure centres;
Once qualified successful trainees will be employed as swimming teachers by Everybody Sport & Recreation on a casual or part-time basis.
Applications close on 3rd September 2020.
You don’t need any prior qualifications to apply as you will be supported through your training. We are accepting applications from those who are halfway through their swimming teacher training or already have their level 1 or 2 qualifications.
Successful candidates will start their qualification online from the 7th September and will be supported through their training at a fast pace.
The first part of the course is completed through interactive e-learning.
You will then attend webinars on the 26th and 27th September ahead of your level 1 practical sessions and assessment.
Your practical sessions and assessment will be between the 28th September and 2nd October.
Once you have completed your Level 1 qualification there will be a period of volunteering before your Level 2 course starts. This will depend on your experience and if you feel ready to take the next step.
You will start your course e-learning from the 7th September and will need to attend training webinars in the evenings between the 14th and 18th of September and 21st to 25th September so please make sure you have time available to complete your course work. This will be an intense course but you will be supported along the way.
You will then complete your practical sessions and assessment on either the 26th and 27th September or 3rd and 4th October.
Once your qualification is complete, Everybody Sport & Recreation has teaching hours available for you straight away so you can be earning as soon as you are qualified.
