Apply to join the academy

If you want to become a swimming teacher and enjoy an active and rewarding role with Inspire All, then this is the perfect opportunity for you.

Apply now to start your journey to becoming a swimming teacher!

The academy gives trainee teachers the chance to embark on a career as a swimming teacher for only £79, compared to the usual cost of over £1,000.

Successful applicants who join the academy will complete their SEQ Level 1 Swimming Assistant (Teaching) and Level 2 Teaching Swimming qualifications.

We support trainees through their training journey with membership and free access to our introduction to swimming strokes online CPDs.

In between the courses, there is a period of volunteering with a potential employer to gain practical experience. Trainees also benefit from CPDs to help them develop as well as getting expert advice and support from a mentor to ensure they have the necessary experience for the role and are ready to hit the poolside well equipped to teach.

Teaching Swimming is an active and rewarding role. Work hours are generally part-time; 3:30 pm to 7:00 pm weekdays, and weekends from 8:00 am – 4.00 pm. For these roles, there may be an opportunity to work across the following leisure centres in the Potters Bar and Bushey;

  • Furzefield Leisure Centre, Mutton Lane, Potters Bar, Herts, EN6 3BW
  • Bushey Grove Leisure Centre, Aldenham Road, Bushey, Herts, WD23 2TD

Once qualified successful trainees will be employed as swimming teachers by Inspire All on a casual or part-time basis.

Academy Itinerary

Applications close on 9th November 2020.

You don’t need any prior qualifications to apply as you will be supported through your training.

Upon acceptance on to the Recruitment Academy, you will commence your swimming teacher journey, starting with the SEQ Level 1 Swimming Assistant course. You will have approximately 5 hours worth of e-learning to complete for the theory elements of your SEQ Level 1 Swimming Assistant (Teaching). The specialist e-learning is split into bite-sized pieces, so you don’t have to do it all in one go. This means you can work through the course online at home, at your own pace. Once you have completed the theoretical elements you will then go on to a scheduled practical assessment.

Course dates:

  • Level 1 course – Starting November (practical dates to be confirmed)
  • Level 2 course – TBC
