This course will allow you to complete the theoretical elements of your Swim England Assistant Artistic Swimming Coach certificate online through a series of live virtual classrooms delivered through ZOOM webinars.

Book course

Government guidance means our pools are currently closed, but this does not mean our training and qualifications should stop. We have specifically adapted this course to make sure everyone has the opportunity to start their training.

As an aspiring coach, this course will equip you with the knowledge and tools to actively support an Artistic Swimming Coach in the delivery of a planned training session.

Course content

This course will be delivered through a mixture of online Zoom sessions and practical poolside learning. We will then arrange your practical training days once the leisure centres and clubs have reopened. Your practical poolside learning will include supporting at least three training sessions to gain hands-on practical experience.

You will learn about:

  • The role of the assistant coach
  • The fundamentals of Artistic Swimming
  • How to safely prepare, support and conclude coached Artistic Swimming sessions
  • Basic and Artistic Swimming specific coaching skills
  • Coach and performer development
  • Good practice in coaching ethics
  • Health and safety

Course fees

To allow as many people to start training during these exceptional times, we are splitting the course fee into two separate payments.

When you start the course and begin your online learning, you will only have to pay £100.

Once the leisure centres and clubs reopen and we can book your practical days, we will arrange your final payment.

Who is the course designed for?

Anyone who wants to take the first step to become an Artistic Swimming Coach or interested in supporting a coach in a club environment.
