The academy gives trainee teachers the chance to embark on a career as a swimming teacher for only £79, compared to the usual cost of over £1,000.

Successful applicants who join the academy will complete their SEQ Level 1 Swimming Assistant (Teaching) and Level 2 Teaching Swimming qualifications.

We support trainees through their training journey with membership which includes free access to £100 worth of e-learning.

In between the courses, there is a period of volunteering with a potential employer to gain practical experience. Trainees also benefit from CPDs to help them develop as well as getting expert advice and support from a mentor to ensure they have the necessary experience for the role and are ready to hit the poolside well equipped to teach.

Teaching Swimming is an active and rewarding role, you will need to be flexible, reliable, and able to work various hours. We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals who can succeed in maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment for our customers and colleagues.

Once qualified successful trainees will be employed as swimming teachers by Legacy Leisure on a casual or part-time basis working at;

• Kennet Leisure Centre, Stoney Lane, Thatcham RG19 4LJ
• Willink Leisure Centre, Hollybush Lane, Burghfield Common, Reading RG7 3XP
• Northcroft Leisure Centre, Northcroft Lane, Newbury RG14 1RS

• Tuesday 1600-1730
• Wednesday 1600-1730
• Friday 1600-1730
• Saturday 0800-1000
