The academy allows aspiring swimming teachers to receive all their training for only £85, compared to the usual cost of over £1000. It includes a mentor to support your development and you will be matched with an employer.

What’s included?

About

Teaching swimming is an active and rewarding role. Work hours are generally part-time including weekday evenings and weekends. Lessons typically run between 4pm to 7pm Monday to Friday, 9am to 1pm on Saturday and 9am to 12pm on Sunday. Some weekday term time hours may also be available to support school swimming.

Once qualified, successful trainees will be employed as swimming teachers by Lex Leisure.

A DBS check will be required before starting your volunteering hours.

Shortlisted applicants will be given the opportunity to find out more about the swimming teacher opportunity at an informal virtual meet and greet session and interview that will take place after the closing date.

You don’t need any qualifications to apply as you will be supported through your training. However, we are accepting applications from those who are partway through their swimming teacher training or already have their Level 1 or 2 qualifications.
