Would you like to become a swimming teacher? The academy gives aspiring teachers the opportunity to receive part-funded training, mentoring, and be matched with an employer.

The academy gives trainee teachers the chance to embark on a career as a swimming teacher for only £79, compared to the usual cost of over £1,000.

Successful applicants who join the academy will complete their SEQ Level 1 Swimming Assistant (Teaching) and Level 2 Teaching Swimming qualifications.

We support trainees through their training journey with membership and free access to our introduction to swimming strokes online CPDs.

In between the courses, there is a period of volunteering with a potential employer to gain practical experience. Trainees also benefit from CPDs to help them develop as well as getting expert advice and support from a mentor to ensure they have the necessary experience for the role and are ready to hit the poolside well equipped to teach.

Teaching Swimming is an active and rewarding role. Work hours are;

• Saturdays or Sundays 09:00 – 13:00
• Weekdays 15:00 – 18:30 (flexible on days)

For these roles, the opportunity would be at the following leisure centre in Warwick;

• Sports and Wellness Hub, Cryfield Village, The University of Warwick, Coventry, CV4 7EU

Once qualified successful trainees will be employed as swimming teachers by the University of Warwick on a casual or part-time basis.

Academy Itinerary

Applications close on 3rd May 2020 and those shortlisted will be interviewed on 12th May 2020.

There will be an informal meet and greet (Date TBC) at the Sports and Wellness Hub, University of Warwick
