Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) - Swim England Level 2 Teaching Swimming

RPL is an assessment only route you can take to gain a Swim England Level 2 Teaching Swimming qualification if you already possess the skills and knowledge needed.

Prior to booking on to this programme you will need to complete an initial assessment . If you successfully pass this stage you will then be able to book your place.

You will be asked to provide relevant and sufficient evidence that you meet the criteria laid out in the qualification specification. Those who decide to join RPL are given 4 weeks to gather their evidence and upload it to their workspace.

Who is RPL designed for?

Anyone who already has experience of teaching swimming using the Swim England Learn to Swim Programme and can provide evidence of meeting the qualification specification without tutor support or learning resources.

Prerequisites

You must be at least 16 years of age at the start of the course.

You must have one of the following qualifications:

An ASA Level 1 Award in Teaching Aquatics or an equivalent ASA qualification taken in or after 1994.
If you are unsure if your qualification meets the pre-requisites, please check with the Institute of Swimming on 01509 640640.

Prior to booking on this programme, you will need to complete and pass an initial assessment.

You will have experience of working as a swimming teacher and must have a good level of English, with both written and verbal communication skills.
