RPL is an assessment only route which you can take to gain an SEQ Level 1 Swimming Assistant (Teaching) qualification if you already possess the skills and knowledge needed.
You will be asked to provide relevant and sufficient evidence that you meet the criteria laid out in the qualification specification. Those who decide to join RPL are given 4 weeks to gather their evidence and upload it to their workspace; this will include videoing yourself assisting participants so please make sure you have their permission beforehand.

Who is RPL designed for?
Anyone who already has experience of assisting swimming lessons using the Swim England Learn to Swim Programme and can provide evidence of meeting the qualification specification without tutor support or learning resources.

You must be at least 16 years of age at the start of the course.
You must have one of the following qualifications:
You will have experience of working as an assistant swimming teacher and must have a good level of English, with both written and verbal communication skills.
Online Test, Practical
As part of your assessment, you must be able to provide video footage of yourself assisting a Level 2 Swimming Teacher. Please make sure you have permission to film before booking onto this programme.
