You could get the knowledge and skills (theoretical training) of your Level 2 Teaching Swimming course funded through the Adult Education Budget with the Sector Skills Academies in Sport project.
Active Apprentice and Vision West Nottinghamshire College launched the Sector Skills Academies for Sport project to offer funding through delivery partners, including the Institue of Swimming.
The project offers you support in starting your career in the sport and physical activity sector. It provides the opportunity to study courses within the industry with the potential to gain valuable, sustainable employment across the sector.
Funded training is available to all candidates in England that meet the eligibility criteria, and will cover the theoretical knowledge and skills part of your Level 2 Teaching Swimming Theory course.
You can then choose to book a practical assessment if you decide to pursue the career opportunity further. All candidates will need to pay a small administration fee to enrol.
Candidates must:
If they meet the above, funding is awarded on different levels detailed below, but all candidates will need to pay the enrolment fee plus registration and assessment cost if certification is required:
To confirm eligibility and the level of funding, candidates will need to complete an eligibility form, where Active Apprentice will assess eligibility for funding. You will also be asked to upload photo identification as part of this process.
