Win a year’s worth of swimming lessons for your little one to enjoy thanks to our amazing competition!

Between 19 September and 12 December 2018, Swim England is giving away a year’s worth of swimming lessons for 10 lucky youngsters.

We want to hear from parents, guardians, grandparents, teachers, even children – why do you think it is so important for your child to learn to swim.

Using the power of social media, we want to make a difference across the country to raise awareness of the importance of learning to swim, and ensure more children are safe in and around water.

How to enter

To win one of the 10 prizes of a year of swimming lessons, you must enter across Instagram, Facebook or Twitter. The competition entry details for each are:

  1. Share one of Swim England’s competition posts.
  2. Add your comment finishing the sentence “I want my child to #LearnToSwim because…”.
  3. Include #LearnToSwim.

  1. Post an image or video through your personal Twitter account.
  2. Write a post finishing the sentence “I want my child to #LearnToSwim because…”
  3. Tag @Swim_England and use #LearnToSwim.

General
  • To win one of the competition prizes you must be a UK resident and 18 years old or over.
  • The child that will be using the prize must be learning to swim following the Swim England Learn to Swim Programme.
  • Competition entries must be received between the start date of the competition (11:00am 19 September 2018) and the closing date (11:59pm 12 December 2018).
  • Swim England may cancel or amend this competition, competition information, or these terms and conditions without prior notice.
  • Our decision will be final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
  • The competition owner is Swim England.
The Prize
  • The prize is defined as a year of swimming lessons for a child learning to swim. There are 10 of these prizes available. Each has a maximum value of £500 per prize winner.
  • Swim England will contact the relevant Swim England Learn to Swim Provider, Swim School or Club to arrange payment, and will pay this directly.
Submitting your entry
  • One entry per person per social media account. This would allow for three entries per person if entering via all three social media opportunities. However, an individual cannot win two of the ten prizes.
  • By submitting photographs or videos to this competition, you (the individual posting the image) automatically grant to Swim England a worldwide, fully-paid, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable and non-exclusive right and license to use, reproduce, publicly display, publish and otherwise use photographs (in whole or in part) as Swim England. An example of this would be to re-post or share images through social media channels, or to create a collection of all competition entries.
  • Entries made through closed or private social media account will not be seen by Swim England. To guarantee that your competition submission is viewable for the random selection and that you are contactable if you win, please make sure to ‘open’ your respective social media account from 12-21 December 2018. Please make sure to read the relevant social media provider’s privacy policy to understand what any setting changes will mean for how images and other personal data will be shared.
Selecting the winners
  • Winners will be selected at random from all legitimate answers submitted before the closing date.
  • The prize winners will be contacted after this time to confirm that they have won via the winning social media account. Winners are required to respond within 14 days of being contacted. After this time, the prize will be passed to the next randomly selected entry.
  • All competition winners are expected to be available for a follow up news story that will be published on the Swim England website (swimming.org) about their child learning to swim.
  • The prize is non-transferable and no cash alternative is available.
  • Incorrect or incomplete answers will not be included in the random draw.
