Alex Harrison appointed as Regional Chairman for Swim England London

“Swim England London are pleased to announce that the Board have appointed Alex Harrison as the new Chairperson of the Region.

Following an open recruitment process, Alex  accepted the role on 7th February and takes up the position with immediate effect.

Alex will be known to many in the Region having served on the Board as an elected member for a number of years, and more recently taking on the role of Chair of the Finance & Administration committee, and of the Diving Committee. His background is in diving, having been a competitive diver before moving in to officiating, coaching and administration. Alex became involved in sport governance at an early age, taking up a role on Swim England’s National Youth Forum (now the Youth Advisory Panel) at 16 years old and was also appointed as Chair of the Forum for 2 years.

Alex was first elected to London’s Management Board in 2013 and has continued to serve in this role since appointed. In addition he is one of the Region’s delegates to the Swim England Council and AGM, and also holds a position on Swim England’s Sport Operations Committee.

On his appointment, Alex said “I am absolutely delighted to accept the role of Chair of the Region. Having been involved in our sport since a very early age, I’m passionate about making sure that all of our members – both athletes, and the workforce that support them – have a rewarding experience. I look forward to working with all of our workforce and stakeholders to develop the Swim England London Strategy for the next 4 years, to continue the success of the Region and our clubs.”
