Open Water Championships - Closing date for entries is fast approaching

National Qualification

The 1st 3 (male and female) swimmers in each of the following ages and distances will be eligible to enter the Swim England Open Water Nationals on Saturday 29th July 2023.

12 and 13 – 2Km

14 and 15 – 3Km

16, 17-18, 19 + – 5Km

Please note all swimmers under 18 years on day of event must be accompanied by a coach, who meets all the necessary coaching and safeguarding requirements

Please note that the Personal Declaration Form needs to be completed for each swimmer and should be brought to the competition by the coach.

Access to the waterside

A Waterside pass is required for access to the water area.

Coaches, Team Managers and Chaperones must apply for a pass through the Swim England National Poolside Pass system which can be accessed here

A pass costs £5 – you will need to have the appropriate qualifications and safeguarding checks in place to cover the whole period for which you have applied.

Your pass must be downloaded by the individual before attending the meet.

Volunteers are eligible to claim out of pocket expenses in line with the agreed event expenses policy.

Anyone volunteering has to be a member of Swim England.

Spectators

There is a dedicated viewing area for spectators and the event team encourages parents to come along and watch. Access to this area does not require any passes nor will there be a charge. Please note the conditions of our hire which stipulate no smoking or dogs are permitted includes this area.

Briefing Room and Swimmers Lakeside area 

These are controlled areas where only those who have a pass will be able to enter. The process for application for the passes for this are detailed in the event instructions.

In accordance with the Event Conditions, any club entering a swimmer who is less than 18 on the date of the event, will need to provide a coach/team manager. Anyone in this position will need to have a pass, which has to applied for in accordance with the entry pack information.
