European Masters social for GB Swimmers

Two European Masters social events have been arranged for GB Masters swimmers around the European Masters Champs taking place at the London Aquatics Centre.

The first will take place on Tuesday 24 May and the second on Sunday 29 May, to celebrate the beginning and end of the European Masters Championships, but also offer an opportunity for both new and seasoned Masters swimmers to socialise and meet new friends.

Both events will take place at  The Royal Inn on the Park pub which overlooks Victoria Park. Everyone is welcome, and those who are new to Masters or part of smaller clubs are especially encouraged to come along and get involved with the fun.

European Masters social event details

On Tuesday 24 May, Verity Dobbie and friends will be sharing their experiences of competing at international meets over the years and will be happy to answer questions, plus you will have a chance to meet some of the other competitors. The event will run from 5pm to 10:30pm

On Sunday 29 May, Masters will be celebrating the successes of the week and making the most of the Bank holiday which follows. This event will run from 5pm until late.

Reserve your place at the European Masters social events

On both days the upstairs bar in The Royal Inn on the Park has been reserved for the GB swimmers from 5pm. To make sure we manage numbers, please apply for your free ticket here for Tuesday 24 and here for Sunday 29 and bring a copy along on the night (please note that we can’t guarantee entry unless you have a ticket).

We’ll be able to accommodate around 150 swimmers each evening, so don’t delay in signing up.

The Royal Inn on the Park is a traditional pub by Victoria Park. Our thanks to Bob Thomas of Otter Swimming Club for providing us with the venue. In addition, thanks to Barnet Copthall and Otter Swimming Club for sponsoring the events.*

*Please note that the events are being organised by volunteers and are in no way linked to LEN, LOC or British Swimming.
