About This Club

Derventio eXcel is the elite swimming squad for Derbyshire, providing the apex of a performance pathway for Derbyshire swimmers and clubs. Alumni include Molly Renshaw, who swam at the 2016 Olympics and won gold a the 2016 World Short Course Champs.

    The elite squad is for swimmers aged 14+ who are aiming to compete at British level. Swimmers train more than 20 hours per week in the pool, and between two and four hours in the gym.

    The National squads are split into South and North groups, and are for swimmers aged 12 - 18. Both squads are aiming to compete at Swim England national competitions. Swimmers train 15+ hours in the pool per week, as well as two hours in the gym
