Book your place on the fifth Swim England Sports Science and Medicine Conference

Bookings are now being taken for the fifth annual Swim England Sports Science and Medicine Conference 2019.

The event takes place on Sunday 10 March at the Village Hotel, Brailsford Way, Beeston, Nottingham, between 9.30am and 4.15pm.

Focusing on how to develop skills to improve starts and turns, the conference is aimed at physiotherapists, strength and conditioning coaches, nutritionists, sports psychologists and sport science staff working within clubs in England.

Diane Elliot, Swim England sport science and medicine manager, said: “We are very excited to be holding our fifth annual conference in Nottingham.

“The aim of the conference is to improve knowledge and skills of practitioners across the country on starts and turns.

“Whether this is physios looking at mobility of swimmers to get into a great start position or sports psychologists working on ensuring the swimmer has a great mindset on the block.

Great list of speakers

“It will also show how land work can help to develop the perfect start and turn, how to improve arena skills, eating for winning and much more.

“We have a great list of speakers from Swim England and British Swimming who have between them a vast experience in swimming.

“It promises to be a truly multi-disciplinary conference and we are looking forward to a great event.”

Last year, the conference focused on The Female Athlete and more than 60 people attended.

The cost for the conference is £35 and places can be booked online.
